Mother's Day/Sunday Hiking

Well, yesterday was Mother's Day, and like we always do after church on Sunday, we went into the mountains.  But instead of having a bon fire and roasting our hotdogs, this time we brought along a newly bought grill just for this kind of occasion and grilled our hotdogs and hamburgers.  And in my opinion, Dad grills the best hamburgers there are to be had.

Since it was Mother's Day yesterday, I'll start off with my beautiful mother.

The 3 gals in this family quilted a table runner for her and snuck it upstairs and placed it on the table while she was in the kitchen double checking everything in the cooler.  Jason and Nicole stopped by with the flowers while we were out.  The last gift we gave to her is at the bottom of this post.'re the greatest.  I love you so much, and I want to thank you for all the encouragement that you've given me for my whole life, and I know you'll do it for as long as you can.  I just want to say that I love you and I always will. ♥♥♥

These pictures are from the hiking that we did yesterday.  I didn't take them all,  Anna did a few and so did Mom.

Anna Marie

Rachel, well, me ♫

This is Nathan up in an aspen.  And just so y'all know exactly how high we was at this moment...
Thant's him up in the tree with the rest of us down on solid ground.

And now for the last gift given to Mom for Mother's Day:

  1. Wow - he really is high up in that tree!

I have just found your blog and have really enjoyed reading :)

  2. What a great time everyone seems to have! The video is so priceless!!

  3. You have a wonderful mother! I'm glad to hear she's so loved and appreciated!

  4. How funny!!! I love that video!!!:)

Thanks, Rachel, for leaving the sweet comment on my blog! Yes, when I first wore skirts I felt like an {as you put it ;)} "odd ball," but now it makes me smile when girls snicker and look at me with odd looks because I feel set apart as God's child and I am standing up for modesty, something I feel very strongly about.

Hope you have a blessed day!
    Love in Christ,

  5. The table runner is beautiful, Rachel! You girls did a wonderful job.

    The video is awesome!!!

  6. Looks y'all had a great Mother's Day!
That video is hilarious! I've already watched it twice and I'm about to do it again. ;) Y'all did a really good job making it.

  7. Thank you my dear sweet Rachel. You have often been an encouragement to me. I am so thankful to the Lord for my husband and children. I had a wonderful Mother's Day. It was very relaxing and peaceful: a very good sermon in Church, a beautiful afternoon in the mountains with my family, and a big surprise ~ the video. I love it!
